El Canuelo is a friendly, small white village situated at the geographical centre of Andalusia. It is ideally positioned for visiting all the major cities of inland Andalusia, to the east Granada with the Alhambra and to the west Cordoba with the Mezquita both of which are only one hours drive. Seville is two hours away.

The village with its population of about three hundred people is situated in the Subbeticas, a beautiful natural park famous for its ferna and forna and ideal for walking, horse riding or observing the eagles and vultures. The area also has a large butterfly population. There is a local English enthusiast on birds and butterflies in the area who can be hired as a tour guide and can show you the best places to see the wild life. The hills with their olive groves together with the mountains and lakes offer visitors an opportunity to relax and enjoy a quieter life style.

El Canuelo has two bars offering food and drinks. One of the bars Bar La Era has a fifteen by eight metre swimming pool safe for children. Both bars and swimming pool are within a few minutes walk of the house. You will be assured of a warm welcome at all these facilities. It is impossible to walk past a village inhabitant without being offered a warm good day, good evening etc. The house owners live in another house in the village and are on hand to offer help and advice on things to do and places to visit, if required.
